School Principal
Katrina Lawrence
Katrina Lawrence holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from Arizona State University and an M.A. in Educational Policy and Leadership from The Ohio State University. She brings decades of experience as a teacher, interventionist, and principal.
She is passionate about implementing a classical education and fostering student growth through thoughtful instruction and leadership.

Spanish Teacher​
Jeriel Aguilar
Jeriel Aguilar holds a B.S. in Biology from San Francisco State University and studied Biblical Studies at Biola University. He has teaching experience at an American bilingual school in Honduras, where he taught science at the middle and high school levels.
He is passionate about engaging students through hands-on learning and helping them grow in both knowledge and confidence.

Second Grade Teacher
Shanna Axelberg
Shanna Axelberg has experience coaching junior high volleyball and soccer and is currently pursuing a B.A. in Elementary and Special Education from Western Governors University.
She is passionate about supporting students’ growth and creating a positive, engaging classroom environment.

Elementary Aide
Cheryl Bargerhuff
Cheryl Bargerhuff holds an Associate’s Degree in Office Administration from Ivy Tech and a Teacher’s Aide Certificate. She has experience in homeschooling, tutoring, and supporting students in the classroom.
She is passionate about helping students grow in their love for reading and for Christ.

Fourth Grade Teacher
Carla Burrel
Carla Burrel has over 10 years of classroom experience and more than 20 years in ministry. She studied Elementary Education at Southwestern Michigan College and continues her studies.
She is passionate about teaching and creating a Christ-centered environment where students can grow academically and spiritually.

Sixth Grade Teacher and Classical Coordinato
Samantha Campbell
Samantha Campbell has 15 years of experience in education, including 10 years in Classical Education. She is trained across multiple levels, is IEW certified, and has extensive experience supporting teachers in implementing classical methods.
She is passionate about equipping students and teachers through a strong classical and Christ-centered approach to learning.

Administrative Assistant
Amber Cummins
Amber Cummins brings 20 years of experience in the medical field and now serves as an Administrative Assistant at GCS. She is actively involved in her church and enjoys serving her community.
She is passionate about supporting students, families, and staff in a Christ-centered environment.

Paraprofessional
Jackie Earl
Jackie Earl holds an Associate’s Degree in Science from Corning Community College and has completed education coursework at Houghton College. She has experience teaching preschool and working as an elementary aide, and now serves in special education.
She is passionate about supporting students one-on-one and helping them succeed.

Secondary Bible Teacher
Matthew Eby
Matthew Eby holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Bible-Theology from Moody Bible Institute and a Master’s in Biblical and Theological Studies from Wheaton College. He brings a strong background in biblical education and ministry.
He is passionate about guiding students in their understanding of Scripture and helping them grow in their faith.

Third Grade Teacher
Mackenzie Folkers
Mackenzie Folkers holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Bethel University and has experience teaching elementary grade levels. She is dedicated to helping students grow academically and build confidence in their learning.
She is passionate about creating a supportive and engaging classroom environment where students can thrive.

Secondary Math Teacher​
Keith Gallegos
Keith Gallegos holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Olivet Nazarene University and an M.S. in Mathematics from Oregon State University. He has experience mentoring and tutoring high school students.
He is passionate about developing students’ problem-solving skills and helping them grow in confidence in mathematics.

High School Biology Teacher
Natasha Guenther
Natasha Guenther holds a degree in Biology from the University of Illinois and has extensive experience teaching and coaching swimming for over 25 years.
She is passionate about teaching biology, with a focus on nutrition and kinesiology, and helping students develop a deeper understanding of how the body works.

Executive Assistant and Office Manager
Holly Hedges
Holly Hedges has served at GCS since 2015, with experience in early education and admissions, and now supports school leadership as Executive Assistant and Office Manager.
She is passionate about serving students and families and helping create a welcoming, Christ-centered school environment.

Automotive Elective
Gabe Hollister
Gabe Hollister has a background in automotive technology and ministry, with experience serving as a Worship Pastor and assistant Youth Pastor. He brings both technical knowledge and mentorship into the classroom.
He is passionate about helping students grow in their identity in Christ while developing strong critical thinking skills.

Guidance Counselor
Shelley Hollister
Shelley Hollister brings 15 years of experience as a guidance counselor and holds a Master of Science in Counseling and Human Services as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She also has experience homeschooling and leading a church youth group.
She is passionate about supporting students’ social, emotional, and spiritual growth in a Christ-centered environment.

First Grade Teacher
Deborah Janowski
Deborah Janowski holds a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Christian University and is completing her master’s in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University. She has experience working in elementary schools and coaching at the high school level.
She is passionate about creating a Christ-centered classroom where students can grow academically and in their faith.

Athletic Director
Liz Martin
Liz Martin holds an Associate’s Degree in Science and brings over 10 years of experience in Classical Education. She has experience in homeschooling, school leadership, and coaching athletics.
She is passionate about mentoring students and supporting their growth both on and off the field in a Christ-centered environment.

Larissa McGuire
Larissa McGuire holds a degree from Appalachian Bible College with majors in TESOL and Bible Theology and Missions. She is equipped to support students in both language development and foundational learning.
She is passionate about creating a nurturing, Christ-centered classroom where young learners can grow and thrive.

Serenity Park
Serenity Park holds a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Moody Bible Institute. She has a strong background in the humanities and a passion for literature.
She is dedicated to helping students develop critical thinking skills and a love for reading through a Christ-centered approach to learning.

Caryn Spence
Caryn Spence holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Purdue University and has many years of experience teaching students in PK–5.
She is passionate about helping students grow academically and creating a supportive, Christ-centered classroom environment.

Jamie Stoltzfus
Jamie Stoltzfus holds a B.A. in Theatre from Knox College and brings years of experience in homeschooling and teaching literature and theatre. She has a strong background in classical education and the Great Books approach.
She is passionate about fostering a love of learning through literature and the arts in a Christ-centered environment.
